Numerical Investigation of the Flow and Infrared Radiation Characteristics of Nozzles with Transverse Jets of Different Shapes

The hot jet of an aero engine is one the main radiation sources infrared detectors in 3–5 microwave bands. Transverse jets were introduced into a to enhance mixing and reduce characteristics. This proved be high-efficiency low-resistance suppression technology. steady-state distribution temperature data was simulated, which needed thermal calculation. characteristics calculated based on anti-Monte Carlo method mechanics enhanced by rectangular nozzle or transverse investigated with LES simulation. Compared axisymmetric nozzle, induced abundant counter-rotating vortex pairs (CVP), hairpins, shears, helical vortexes, resulted significant enhancement decrease jets. Further, circumferential different types downstream nozzle. These reduced µm band. these schemes studied detail. Large-scale vortices formed windward portion boundary under effect jets, caused strong CVP structures. They also hairpin shear vortexes appearing earlier occurring more frequently than nozzles without led increase decay transvers geometrical shapes (rectangular, cube, circular schemes) achieved characteristics, allowed most for largest Q criterion value.
